I don’t hate this as much as the silvery-plastic holes in the bumper. Soot buildup on exhaust tips is real, and i can understand how consumers may not like to see it on their new car, thinking something is broken or wrong.

I mean, considering the st is “supposed” to be for us guys, this is a real good indicator that i t actually isnt and ford knows regular joe is the target market.

I have a theory that this has less to do with soot buildup and more to cover their asses from the exhaust leak problem on the last generation Explorer.
Remember how all the police interceptors were recalled and had down facing exhaust tips installed? Idk, if that’s the case here, but it almost wouldn’t surprise me.

i wonder how hard it would be to re-route it to the regular tips

I didn’t even notice it was fully blocked off in your pic. This is stupid imho.

My Regal has the silvery plastic holes that aren’t attached to the exhaust and I still get to see soot build- up.

Wait what? The pipe is capped off and the opening in the bottom is the only exit? I thought it was both openings so lowest resistance would get the path. That just seams obscene.

Is that an intentional pun with seams instead of seems ? It works well, I’m just curious if autocorrect helped you out or it was intentional on your part.

Autocorrect gets the credit for that one.
